Year 3 practised the song and learnt that some nouns are masculine and some are feminine. They then recapped on the order of the verses and then ordered and labelled pictures showing the order of the song.
Year 3 started a new topic – games and songs. They started off by comparing the English and French versions of the Farmer in the Dell. They learnt the words to the song and have started to memorise it. They then matched the images and words found in the song: Le fermier dans son pre.
Year 3 learnt how to pronounce this question. They practised asking it and replying with J’ai huit or sept ans. They also practised all the vocabulary they’d learnt in this unit by having a conversation with their partner.
Year 3 learnt to use the phrase: Comment ca va? and reply to their partner. They sang songs and made up actions to a variety of answers.
Year 3 have been learning and practising numbers 1-10 in French. They also practised greeting each other, asking their names and replying with Je m’appelle……
Year 3 practised using Bonjour by singing a song to the tune of London’s Burning. They also listened to a song to recognise the ‘j’ sound. Then learnt numbers un, deux, trois, which they practised by playing rock, paper, scissors.
The year children started off their first French lesson of the year with practising some greetings. They created their own actions to go along with the words they sang in the song. They then wrote down the English translation next to each French greeting.
