LO: to design a birthday party invitation for a friend
Year 3 revised months of the year and numbers and sang Happy birthday in French. They watched a birthday party video about a dog and his mother celebrating a birthday.They then used a template to create a birthday party invitation for a friend.





















LO:I can use Quel âge as-tu? and J’ai ….. ans
Year 3 practised saying numbers and months of the year. They learnt to say and sing Quel âge as-tu? and to answer J’ai huit ans or J’ai sept ans. They practised a dialogue with their partner and completed sentences using J’ai ….. ans.
























LO: to use the phrase: Mon anniversaire c’est le…..
Year 3 practised saying and singing numbers ,the months of the year and how old are you. . They then practised a dialogue with their partner, asking them when their birthday was and replying with their birthday and month.


















LO: to learn and say the months of the year in order
Year 3 practised saying the numbers that they learnt last week up to 20. They were then introduced to the months of the year.They said the words slowly, quickly, quietly and loudly. They noticed that the months of the year in French all start with a small letter unlike in English. They children learnt a Months of the year song and identified the month in which they have their birthdays. They also found out about Name Days and looked for names they knew. They also sang Joyeux Anniversaire















Lo: to count from 1- 20 in French
Year 3 started a new topic: On fait la fête. They practised saying numbers from 1-20. They then sang a numbers song and started to workk on a numbers activity sheet,completing a wordsearch and crossword and writing numbers in words.


















LO: to use Combien de… ? and Il y a when counting to twelve.
Year 3 practised saying numbers 1 to 10.They then learnt how to say the numbers 11 and 12. They sang Le fermier dans le pre. They focused on what happens to words in French to show plural. They learnt what combien de and il y a mean.They then counted different animals, filling in the numbers in French and adding s to the noun to show plural.












LO: to find out about Christmas traditions in France
Year 3 were introduced to French Christmas vocabulary. They listened to and watched an animated story about Rudolph and his journey to the North Pole to help Santa. The children were asked to recognise vocabulary that they had just learnt and any previous vocabulary that they recognised, including words that are very similar to the English word. They then coloured in a Joyeux Noel bauble.















LO: to memorise the song by ordering the verses
Year 3 sang the song: The Farmer in the Dell in French several times. They then ordered pictures and words to help them remember the song.








LO: I can memorise the words of a nursery rhyme
Year 3 started a new topic: Les jeux et chansons – games and songs. They compared the English and French versions of the Farmer in the Dell, learnt the vocabulary for The farmer in the dell in French and matched the new vocabulary with pictures.
