LO : to perform a short conversation with my partner
Year 3 revised everything they’d learnt in the C’est moi topic: Bonjour,salut,Comment t’appelles-tu?, Je mappelle….., Ca va? Ca va bien,quel age as-tu?, J’ai …… and and numbers to ten. They practised their conversation and then performed it.
LO: to as how old someone is and to say my age
Year 3 practised saying, singing and writing numbers 1-10. They learnt the question: Quel age as-tu? How old are you? and how to respond: I am seven or eight years old. They practised asking each other and answering the question. They then wrote the question and their answer into their books.
LO: I can practise using ça va
Year 3 learnt how to say how they felt, using ,ca va. They learnt some actions to explain the words they used. They practised asking their partner how he or she was . They also sang a song : Comment ca va ? then drew in the faces to show they knew what the words meant.
LO: I can celebrate the European Day of languages by finding out about Turkey and learnt to say a few words in Turkish
Year 3 found out about Turkey and learnt to say some words in Turkish They learnt to say some greetings in Turkish(guided by 3 helpful pupils), and found out the names of colours in Turkish.They then coloured in a flower, labelling the names of the colours in Turkish.
LO: I can practise reading, writing and saying numbers 1-10
Year 3 practised the saying and remembering the numbers from 1-10, through song and repetition. They then matched digits and numbers and some children completed a number crossword puzzle. They also sang the song of the half term, Bonjour.

Year 3 practised numbers from one to ten. They counted un,deux, trois, while they played, rock,paper,scissors. They then sang a song and wrote down the numbers in French. They also listened to French with Alexa explaining the numbers.

Year 3 practised identifying the ‘j’ sound by putting their hands on their heads when they heard the sound. They learnt the words to Deux petit ouiseaux – Two little birds, which they then sang with actions. Finally they practised Comment t’appelles-tu? And Je m’appelle.
Year 3 started off their first lesson of year 3 with revising the greetings they learnt last year. They enjoyed greeting each other whilst they sang The bonjour song.
Year 3 listened to the story Les quatres Amis , aciting out the verbs associated with each animal. They then identified,nouns ,verbs and adjectives in sentences. They were then given parts of sentences on cards which they then sorted to describe each animal form the story. They worked with a partner to sort the cards and then independently wrote sentences to describe each animal.
Year 3 listened to the story les quatres amis being read to them.They enjoyed miming the actions of the 4 friends to identify the animals. They also did actions for the house, sun and mimed eating an apple. The children then practised the names of the four friends by playing a game, where four children were different animals.
